Emma & PJ’s Intimate Leicester Elopement
Some weddings are loud. Some are chaotic. Some are full-day, all-singing, all-dancing productions.
And then there are days like this. Quiet, intentional, cool as hell.
I’ve known Emma for years through her work as the creative force behind The Bloom Project, so when she messaged to ask if I’d capture her and PJ’s super small local elopement in Leicester, there was never any doubt. Immediate yes. No questions asked.
They’re having their bigger wedding in South Africa where PJ is originally from, but this day wasn’t about doing the most. It was about doing what felt right. Just the two of them. No noise. No expectations. No performance.
Emma and PJ looked unreal. Effortless, relaxed, completely themselves. The kind of energy you can’t fake and don’t need to overdirect. No tight timelines. No pressure. Just calm, joy, and that soft buzz you get when you know you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
One of my favourite moments of the day was stopping by their home before heading to their reception. Nothing staged. Nothing fancy. Just a quick photo of the two of them with their dog. Real life. Real love. The kind of image that’ll mean more with every passing year.
This is why I love elopements like this. They cut through the noise. They leave space for the stuff that actually matters. The connection. The intimacy. The in-between moments you don’t even realise are magic until later.
Emma and PJ’s Leicester elopement was small, meaningful, and full of heart. A perfect prelude to their South African celebrations and honestly, such a beautiful way to close out the year.
If this is your idea of a wedding day, trust me, you’re doing it right and if you’re planning an elopement and need a photographer, get in touch.
