What a wedding, not only did we do wedding photography but also one of our first wedding video highlight films! I absolutely loved this wedding and I loved that the families all travelled from Australia and other parts of the the world to see these two get married.
Anu and Sam first got in touch with me about their Uppingham fusion wedding in Leicestershire this June and I was so thrilled that I was available with less than a month’s notice! Obviously I usually book up within 1-2 years in advance but it’s always worth getting in touch!
Anu and Sam were planning the most relaxed and romantic wedding with a religious ceremony, lots of dancing and three wedding cakes. I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Bride and groom prep
I began the morning at the Marquees of Exeter, where the couple and their families were getting ready, and it was really exciting, because the two of them were getting ready in the same building which meant that we were able to nip back and forth to get shots of them both during the preparations. Anu wore a traditional red lengah styled dress with gold accents and Sam wore a traditional navy suit and they both looked fantastic.
Uppingham Chapel Wedding Ceremony
The wedding took place at the chapel at Uppingham School where they both teach, and was an romantic religious ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. The ceremony was held by their friend Father James who conducted the event beautifully and even threw in a couple of funny jokes during the ceremony which cracked the guests up!
After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then we headed outside to do some confetti photos outside the church door.
The Maquess of Exeter Wedding Venue
The wedding reception took place in the main room of the Marquess of Exeter in Lyddington, which they’d decorated with lovely subtle lace and quirky details. It was lovely to see that their friends and family pulled together to help with aspects of the day. They also had a really cute ‘UP’ inspired guest book print, which everyone loved. It was beautiful. It was a slightly rainy day in the morning which wasn’t in the plan but the couple didn’t mind. While the guests hung around drinking Prosecco, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits.
My favourite photo from our couples session is the one of the two of them in front of the trees outside the school, because Anu and Sam both teach in Uppingham School they knew all the best places for some gorgeous couple photos.
During the reception everyone was there mingling and chatting to each other. They had a sweet table and a lovely drinks reception, which went down a storm. For the wedding breakfast they had a variety of different foods, and it was absolutely delicious. After the meal they had some wonderful speeches, then the couple cut one of their three wedding cakes and the party got started.
The couple had their first dance as the sun set to John Legend’s All of Me. After their first dance the party really begun and we got some amazing dancing shots.
Here’s their fun and colourful fusion Leicestershire wedding!
