IF YOU’RE PLANNING A WINTER WEDDING, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING FOR INSPIRATION!
When Jodie and Pete first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a romantic winter wedding with an intimate ceremony and a magician for the reception. Jodie and Pete are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Bride and groom prep
Heather and I started the day at Llechwen Hall, where the couple were getting ready, and it was really exciting, because everyone was in a good mood. Jodie wore a gorgeous satin dress with lace details and her bridesmaids all looked incredible in pink and Pete and his groomsmen all wore navy suits and they both looked really beautiful. These two got married on Bonfire Night so it was definitely nippy but it was nice and dry!
The ceremony
The wedding took place at Llechwen Hall in the Jailhouse and was a intimate registrar ceremony. They had some beautiful vows, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together, and then we did a confetti tunnel outside the venue doors.
The afternoon
The wedding reception took place in the marque at Llechwen Hall, which was decorated with fairy lights and white floral centrepieces. It was so stunning.
It was a cool day, which didn’t bother them at all. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we took portrait photos over on the grass. My favourite photo from the afternoon is the one of the bridesmaid picking up Pete. Check it out below!
During the reception they had a magician, which was great fun. For the wedding breakfast they had proper wedding grub, and it was loved by all the guests. Afterwards, there were a few speeches, special shout out to Pete for his incredibly moving speech, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place! After the cake cutting the party got started. They also had an amazing photobooth full of props which kept everyone entertained.
Advice for planning your wedding
If you’re having a winter wedding, try and have your ceremony earlier on in the day so that you still have time to grab your couple and family portraits before it gets too dark!
