IF YOU LOVE LONDON WEDDINGS THEN YOU’LL FIND SO MUCH INSPIRATION FROM THIS WINTER ELOPEMENT!
Vanessa and Kieran got married at the gorgeous Marylebone Town Hall, London. It was a wonderful winter elopement wedding, with stunning dried flowers, a ring blessing and a dinner reception at Claridge’s to keep guests entertained. When these two first got in touch, we hit it off like a house on fire and I was so excited to capture their day!
The first look and ceremony
So, as we all know British weather can be unpredictable at the best of times, and with it getting dark at 3pm in the Winter, we always recommend an early ceremony or first look, this makes sure that you can get the best out of your wedding photos and your wedding day can be more relaxed over all! So when these two decided they were planning on doing both, I was ecstatic, this meant that we could get some gorgeous couple photos and still allow them plenty of time for mingling and confetti after the ceremony!
During the first look, we asked Kieran to hide in the archways of the Town Hall whilst Vanessa walked up the steps, honestly seeing his face when he first saw her even had me tearing up! All throughout the day I kept catching him looking at Vanessa in awe and it was honestly the sweetest thing.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful Marylebone Town Hall, which is easily one of my faves, the ceremony was really cosy and you could feel the love in the air. The ceremony included a beautiful reading by the groom’s sister and their little boy Zachariah as the ring bearer. It was a moving occasion, full of tears and nervous giggles.
After the ceremony, we had a big confetti tunnel on the steps of the town hall and then we snuck off to do some couple portraits, which is always such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it sink in, and we got some stunning photos of the two of them walking around the town hall. The weather at this winter elopement wedding was fresh and bright and luckily these two got married at 12pm which gave them lots of time for photos afterwards, which I loved.
The wedding reception was held at Claridge’s. Claridge’s is a perfect venue for weddings because it has so many options, and it’s got such a grand atmosphere, especially in the private dining area where the couple and their guests had dinner.
For the reception, the couple had organised a ring blessing in the bar area at Claridge’s which was held by the Pastor at Kieran’s local church, followed by canapes and ice breaker games for their guests, and you could really see that everyone had such a great time. Guests were then called for the wedding breakfast, which was a gorgeous three course meal – honestly when I tell you, it looked and smelt delicious.
The evening
After the meal was finished, they had some really moving speeches from their family and friends, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
The evening ended with the newlyweds cutting the cake, which was made by Vanessa’s best friend Akira, and everyone had a great time. The whole winter elopement wedding was just the happiest occasion, from the beautiful vows to the wonderful speeches.
Lovely words
“We had the most amazing dayand we’re so happy you were with us to capture it all! Everyone said how lovely you were and were asking how we found you. They thought maybe we were already friends because you just fit in with the group so effortlessly.”
I loved this London city elopement wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a wedding photographer in London, get in touch.
