IF YOU’RE PLANNING A WEDDING AT HIRST PRIORY IN LINCONSHIRE, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING FOR INSPIRATION!
Kate and Gordon got married at Hirst Priory, which is a gorgeous manor house in Lincolnshire with stunning grounds. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and the sun even made an appearance!
THE COUPLE
Kate wore a gorgeous sequined bridal top and tulle skirt and Gordon wore an amazing suit AND sparkly loafers and they looked really incredible. One of my favourite things of the day was that Kate carried a little Winnie the Pooh plushie in her bouquet with her for the day as a good luck charm.
The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry was so personal. They said they didn’t care about anything except having an epic party, and I loved that they just wanted to party, spend time with friends and eat cake. (Hello, ideal couple goals!)
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was a beuatiful humanist service led by Gordon’s Dad. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family and it was such a lovely vibe and so unique. Gordon’s dad had the most amazing energy during the ceremony and had everyone in stiches!
They decorated the venue with Christmas décor and an overall wintery alpine theme, which looked incredible! The reception was in the Tipi at Hirst Priory, which never fails to look the part! One of my favourite touches was the Colin the Catapillar cake which was loooooved by all of the guests!
Weddings at Hirst Priory are amazing because you can totally personalise it and the surrounding areas are absolutely amazing, which is perfect for sneaking off for some couple photos which we obviously did!
THE PARTY
The couple had live music in the afternoon, and a Jagerbomb Yurt in the evening. I’ve gotta say, I’ve never experienced a Jagerbomb Yurt, nor am I very fond of Jagerbombs (I fully blame my first year freshers week at university for that) but OMG you could tell how excited everyone was, we even peeped a few people sneaking in to see when it was ready!
There’s something about getting married on New Years Eve that just makes for even more excitement and atmosphere. For dinner they had amazing grazing boards, and their first dance was super energetic, and really got the party started, you know you’ve gotta have good music for a NYE party and OMG, Kate and Gordon had the best wedding band ever hands down! Naturally they partied way into the New Year where they finished off the evening with Jagerbombs all round.
WHY HIRST PRIORY IS A GREAT PLACE TO GET MARRIED
Hirst Priory is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Lincolnshire. The venue offers onsite bedrooms so guests don’t have to leave early – and there are loads of amazing places that are perfect for photos.
ADVICE FOR PLANNING YOUR WEDDING AT HIRST PRIORY
Take advantage of all of the gorgeous space around the venue! It’s such a beautiful location so you’ve really got to take it all in.
