If you’re into celestial vibes, jewel tones and alternative wedding decor then this one’s for you! This amazing alternative wedding photography shoot took place at the incredible Arnos Vale Cemetery in Bristol and has been on my moodboard for a loooongg time! So I’m so glad that I finally got to make it happen AND with some amazing suppliers!
THE CONCEPT
I’ve always been super inspired by celestial elements and moody jewel tones and obviously being an alternative wedding photographer, I was so excited to start planning this shoot. I feel like that celestial wedding decor themes have been super popular lately and it’s easy to see why! For the concept I wanted to stick with the celestial wedding theme but add in some inky jewel tones as well. I have been obsessed with Arnos Vale Cemetery since I first saw it pop up My Instagram feed so as soon as Buffy their wedding coordinator said she was interested I was over the moon, they have some gorgeous areas for photographs as well as some really cool architecture and details. There was something so fitting with doing a Celestial styled wedding shoot in a cemetery, especially one as gorgeous as Arnos Vale Cemetery. One thing I love about Arnos Vale Cemetery as a wedding venue is the flexibility that it gives to you to have your wedding your way in a choice of 3 different venues on site.
Arnos Vale Cemetery is one of those wedding venues that I would absolutely love to do more weddings at so obviously if anyone needs a Arnos Vale wedding photographer or Bristol wedding photographer definitely drop me a message.
THE STYLING + SUPPLIER LOVE
The styling was by the amazing Lizzie over at The South West Wedding Company, as soon as Lizzie sent me her ideas I knew I’d made the right choice. The table focused on jewel tones, golds and inky blues. I am still IN LOVE with the gold rimmed charger plates and cutlery.
I knew from the start I had to get Kelly from White Cottage Weddings onboard from the beginning. Their work is edgy yet elegant, and literally set the tone for the shoot. I was in love with their celestial seating plan idea, which also doubled as an amazing photo backdrop!
Carlo, our groom is rocking a gorgeous black suit by Dyfed Menswear, teamed with a floral buttonhole from The Petal Emporium! This suit worked so well with the overall vibe of the shoot. As a Bristol wedding photographer everyone knows that Dyfed Menswear are the place to get amazing classic suits.
What can I say about Bex! BexBrides are absolutely amazing and the star detailing on the dress and those sleeves are to die for. Bex is super creative and so talented at what she does, I knew that she was the only person for this shoot.
Danny Williams MUA and Hair By Amy Marie are a dream team when it comes to hair and makeup! The strong makeup look that Danny created suited this shoot perfectly and the gorgeous fishtail styled plaits Amy did worked well with the dress and the vibe of the shoot.
Janine from The Lucky Sixpence is Literally the only bridal headwear supplier that I recommend because I love her work that much! The combination of the star crown mixed with the geo crown works so well and adds a really cool layered effect, so much so that the day before the shoot I literally refused to take it off my head! The bridal denim jackets by Truffle Stitch are the perfect way to stay warm whilst remaining stylish and are also a great alternative to leather if you’re vegan.
To top it all off, this tiny cameo from Coco the french bulldog is melting our hearts! She’d be the perfect little ring bearer for the wedding rings by London Victorian Ring Co!
The unique wedding cake by Claire’s Sweet Temptations is a perfect addition to the celestial wedding, fitting in with the dark colours. It looks brilliant draped in fairy lights and surrounded by romantic candles!
Rue Luxury Gift Service provided this awesome gift box, crammed full of goodies! A wedding gift box like this can be delivered to your loved one on their wedding morning, full of special treats! What a romantic way to start the day.
THE COUPLE
What can I say about these two? Not only are they both mega BABES but they also brought along Coco their french bulldog. Anyone who knows me knows I love a french bulldog, but a french bulldog in a floral crown? I’m obsessed. Darylle and Carlo were both amazing to work with and they suited the styling of the shoot perfectly.
