If you’re planning a Barn wedding, you’ll find tons of inspo from this wedding!
When Ciara and Sandy first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so thrilled – they were planning a really fun barn wedding with an intimate ceremony and some amazing music for the reception. Ciara and Sandy are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding and after their engagement shoot, I was even more excited!!
Bride and groom prep
Chloe and I started at the gorgeous Bibury Farm Barn where the couple along with their families and friends were getting ready, and it was so chilled out, and everyone was in a good mood. It was stunning, if you’re looking for wedding accommodation in the Cotswold’s, I’d definitely check them out! The girls morning was super emotional with toasts from the bridesmaids and lots of amazing and heartfelt gifts. One great thing about everyone getting ready in the same location it meant that everyone was super chilled out and no one felt rushed! Ciara wore a stunning minimalistic dress with a gorgeous train while all of her bridesmaid look amazing in green and Sandy and his groomsmen all wore super dapper tuxes, everyone looked really incredible.
The ceremony
The wedding took place at St Mary’s Church, and was a romantic church ceremony, One of my favourite things about the day was that Sandy’s dad led the ceremony, meaning that everything was super personal to them. They had several beautiful readings from friends and family and songs, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together and then the celebrations began.
The afternoon
It was a bright and sunny day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our portrait session is the one of Ciara and Sandy walking back to the venue. Check it out below!! The wedding reception took place at the amazing Cripps Barn in Cirecester, Cripps is one of my favourite Cotswolds venues to shoot at and the couple had decorated it with gorgeous florals and candles. It was so beautiful.
The decided to have their speeches before their food, which we always recommend of course! I have to say, these two had some absolutely wonderful and emotional speeches! For the wedding breakfast they had an amazing three course meal, (the food options are definitely one of Cripps Barn’s selling points) and it was loved by all the guests.
After the food, everyone headed back outside and chilled out around the fire pits, while we snuck off to grab the last few couple shots of the evening, then we headed back inside to join the party where the DJ had set up ready for their first dance! They also had a surprise sax player, which was a huge hit. Honestly, I love that you can see how in love these two are just by looking at them, which is what it’s all about!
Advice for planning your wedding
One thing I love about these two was that everything was really well thought out, they’d planned the day really well and left themselves enough time to chill out together throughout the day!
