If you’re planning a fusion wedding, you’ll find tons of inspo from this wedding!
When Tabby and Udy first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning the most exciting autumnal wedding with a humanist ceremony and outfit changes, a tea ceremony and firebreathers for the reception. Tabby and Udy are the most wonderful people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The excitement before the wedding
We started at Broadfield Court, where the couple’s friends and family were getting ready, and it was really exciting, because they were so happy to see each other. Tabby wore a gorgeous lace top and gold flowy skirt and Udy wore an amazing linen suit with hints of green and they looked really incredible. I knew when I walked in that these two were gonna be dressed amazingly and they did not disappoint!!
The ceremony
The wedding took place at Broadfield Court outside in the Marquee, and was a quirky humanist ceremony. They had personal vows they’d written themselves, which brought pretty much everyone to tears, also a special shout out goes to the people who gave readings during the ceremony, it really was such a personal touch and they were beautiful. After the ceremony the couple danced back down the aisle together, and then the celebrations began.
The party
The wedding reception took place in a tipi behind the house at Broadfield Court, which they’d decorated with lots of fairy lights, pops of red and florals. It was really unique.
It was a slightly rainy day, which wasn’t in the plan but the couple didn’t mind. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is the one of the two of them having a quiet moment right before the wedding breakfast. Check it out below!
During the reception they kept everything super informal and relaxed with drinks in the garden which gave the afternoon a really chilled vibe. For the wedding breakfast a mixture of different foods, including a vegan Caribbean option (I was in heaven obvs), and it was loved by all the guests. Afterwards, they had some wonderful speeches and the party kicked off. They also had some incredible surprises including an Igbo/Nigerian dance group, Tabby and Udy doing a joint DJ set and some amazing surprise dances too, which everyone loved.
These two are absolutely incredible and I cannot believe I got to be a part of their day!! Here is a sneak preview of their wedding!
