IF YOU LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS FUN AND ROMANTIC WINTER WEDDING!
Jessica and Osian got married at the gorgeous Gellifawr Woodland Retreat, Pembrokeshire, last November. It was a super fun winter wedding, with wintery decor everywhere and sparklers.
Bride and groom prep
Jessica got ready in the bridal suite at Gellifawr with her bridal party, and there was such a relaxed vibe. The prep also included their lovely flowergirl/daughter Ella. She wore Jessica wore a gorgeous beaded mermaid style gown, and looked so beautiful. She then walked down the main staircase to get to the ceremony.
Osian got ready in the cottages at the venue with his groomsmen and their son. He wore a dark blue suit with blush details, and looked really dapper. After having a couple of photos outside the venue the lads then travelled to the ceremony on foot.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place in the gorgeous main room at Gellifawr. The ceremony area was lit by fairy lights, which was so perfect, because it was an intimate wedding. The ceremony began with a beautiful reading, and finished with them walking down the aisle and being showered with colourful confetti. It was a gorgeous ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and lots of laughter.
After the ceremony, I left the couple to mingle, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. Then we went down to the fields for the portrait photos, which I love doing. I got some stunning couples photos in the forest – My second photographer Lauren eve brought some smoke bombs which we made use of! The weather was a little chilly, but that didn’t bother them at all.
The afternoon
Jessica and Osian chose to have their wedding at Gellifawr Woodland Retreat because it has so many options, and it’s near their home. Gellifawr Woodland Retreat is a quirky country house, and it’s got such a romantic atmosphere, especially in the gardens when the sun goes down.
For the reception, the couple had planned cocktails and a sweet cart for their guests, and everyone loved it – FIELD EMPTY. Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which was proper wedding grub. It was absolutely delicious. They had speeches after the meal, which were really funny – especially the slideshow of photos from throughout their relationship.
The evening
After the cake cutting, guests tucked into the sweet table and had a go in the photobooth, and the evening got started. The DJ played all the best songs to get everyone dancing.
The evening ended with sparklers, which was such a wonderful idea – as their wedding was on bonfire weekend. The whole wedding was so romantic, from the beautiful vows to the sparkler exit. One of the most memorable parts of the wedding was the speeches, because they were so personal and heartfelt. The wedding cake was also a talking point of the wedding – as it was on of the first times anyone had seen a ‘naked’ wedding cake before.
I loved this Gellifawr wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a fun and relaxed wedding photographer, get in touch.
