IF YOU LOVE COLOUR THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS QUIRKY BRISTOL WEDDING!
Anna and Brendan got married at the gorgeous Town Hall, Bristol, last autumn. It was a crazy quirky alternative wedding, with awesome decor everywhere and even a Lego cake. Shout out to Nick Church Photography for having me along!
Getting ready
Anna got ready in a near by hotel in Bristol City Centre with her friends and close family, and there was such an exciting vibe. Anna’s family are a mixture of Jewish and Greek heritage so the bridal prep was an amazing mixture of cultures and traditions. She wore a beautiful a line styled gown, and looked so gorgeous. The wedding party then walked through the city to get to the ceremony.
The serious part
The ceremony took place in the town hall in Bristol City Centre. The ceremony area was a lovely room, which was so unique, I think it suited them perfectly. The ceremony began with a beautiful reading, and finished with the couple dancing back down the aisle together. It was a wonderful ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and so much love. They even had Anna’s friend sing to them before signing the register which was beautiful.
After the ceremony, the couple mingled with their guests, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. Then we took some time out for photos, which I think are really important. I got some really fun candid photos as they enjoyed the afternoon – having two photographer is always a great idea because it gives you more chances to capture those fun/random moments. The weather was perfect, it was a beautiful day.
The afternoon
Anna and Brendan chose to have their wedding at Town Hall because it has so many options, and it’s near their home. Town Hall is a quirky venue, and it’s got such an unusual vibe, especially in the grand hall when the party gets going.
For the reception, the couple had set up cocktails and live music for their guests, and everyone had a blast. Everyone was then called in for food, which was a slap up meal. It was absolutely delicious. They had speeches after the meal, which were really touching – especially the speeches from Anna’s close friends.
The evening
After the meal was finished, everyone got straight on the dancefloor, and the party got started. The DJ kept everyone entertained all evening.
The evening ended with a gorgeous first dance, which was incredible – The couple also had a cheese cake which was used for the evening buffet. The whole wedding had such a chilled vibe, from the epic cake to the wonderful speeches. These guys were definitely my kind of couple. I loved working with them! One of the best parts of the wedding was the first dance, because it was so different to any other first dance that I had seen before. The cake was also a talking point of the wedding – I loved the use of the Lego characters on the top.
I loved this quirky alternative wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a quirky/alternative wedding photographer, get in touch.
