When Hannah and Greg first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a relaxed outdoor wedding with a humanist ceremony and canapes and drinks for the reception. Hannah and Greg are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The excitement before the wedding
I started at Cefn Tilla in Usk, where the couple’s friends and family were getting ready, and it was really chilled, you could really tell everyone was so excited and happy to see each other. Hannah wore a gorgeous sparkly dress with white Dr Martens boots and Greg wore a green kilt and they both looked aboslutely lush!
The ceremony
The wedding took place at Cefn Tilla Court and was an initimate humanist ceremony. They had some lovely personlised vows, a handfasting, and a beautiful reading. The whole thing was just magical and everything I love about humanist weddings. After the ceremony they jumped over the broom which was decorated with the flowers from Hannah’s bouquet from their elopement back last year and then of course they jumped over the broom again accompanied by their dog Phoenix, before heading back down the aisle together and then the celebrations began.
The reception
It was a stormy day, which luckily didn’t put a dampener on moods. After the confetti throw, we did a couple of group photos and then while the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we snuck off for a wander around the venue to get some fun couple portraits. My favourite photo from the afternoon is definitely the ones of the two of them just outside the house. Check it out below!
The wedding reception took place in the marquee at Cefn Tilla, which they’d decorated with a mixture of dried and fresh flowers, candles and lots of subtle pops of green and gold. It was so stunning.
During the reception they had a lovely meal with friends and family, which went down a storm. For the wedding breakfast they had a buffet, and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards, they had some amazing speeches and the DJ got the party got started.
I have so much love for these two and their wedding planning process has been such a whirlwind so I’m so glad we finally got to have the day they dreamed of! H+G and their families are amazing and I feel so lucky that I could’ve been part of their elopement and wedding day!
