✨ Conga Lines + Chaos: Katie & Tom’s Immersive Wedding Rave in Somerset 🎤🛟
BLOG BODY:
Holy sh*t — where do I even begin?!
Katie & Tom’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration… it was a full-blown, immersive, beautifully chaotic experience. Think: inflatable boats, temporary tattoos, a conga line that never seemed to end, and a first rap instead of a first dance. Yes, really. And yes it slapped.
Set in the heart of Beckington, Somerset (where Katie grew up), these two theatrical legends pulled off a wedding day that was equal parts heartfelt and hilarious. They’d technically already tied the knot a few days earlier in the woods at Oakley, but this was the party and they weren’t here to faff around.
From the second I arrived, the vibe was electric. No stiff traditions. No endless posed photos. Just a whole lot of love, laughter, and absolute legends. Katie and Tom wanted a day that reflected them and they delivered. Every detail had their stamp on it, from the custom games and silly props, to their best friend leading a mini ceremony packed with personal twists and inside jokes.
Oh, and that first rap? Iconic. A full mic-drop moment. Cue inflatable dolphins crowd-surfing through the reception and a crowd screaming the lyrics to I’m On A Boat like their lives depended on it.
But beyond the theatrics and party madness, what hit me most was how full of love the whole day felt. After over 10 years together (they met at drama school come on, of course they did), Katie & Tom pulled off the perfect thank-you party for their favourite people. Everyone felt like part of the show. No awkward silences. No boring gaps. Just pure connection.
I left with my face hurting from smiling and my camera roll full of the kind of moments that make this job magic.
Katie & Tom, thank you for trusting me to capture your chaos. You threw the rulebook out the window and proved that weddings can be anything you want them to be. I’ll never look at inflatable dolphin or conga lines the same again. 💥
If you’re planning a wedding that is more vibes than traditions and need a alternative wedding photographer to capture it hit me up here!
